Patriots Tweets Of Note: Training Camp Day 10

August 8, 2022 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

The Patriots had a padded walkthrough/gameday-style practice in Gillette Stadium Friday night, but I didn’t feel there was anything major to report back on so we’re back for today’s afternoon session!

Here are all of the Tweets Of Note from Patriots Training Camp Day 10!

Back at it for an afternoon practice. pic.twitter.com/iBOgpbpEiS

Another beautiful day for work on the practice field, like this afternoon, tomorrow’s practice is also slated to start at 4pm, open to the public for free from 3pm.

Belichick said rookie RB Pierre Strong is “a little bit behind” after being limited for the first week of camp but that he’s “working hard, catching up.”

— Zack Cox (@zm_cox) August 8, 2022

Strong is certainly up against it to find a role this year given how stacked the running back room is, but Bill noted that the rookie is working hard.

Patriots training camp Day 10

PUP: James White

NFI: Andrew Stueber

Returned: Rhamondre Stevenson, Matt Judon, Jabrill Peppers, Chasen Hines, Jahlani Tavai and Dalton Keene

— Mark Daniels (@ByMarkDaniels) August 8, 2022

Probably the healthiest the team has been all offseason as a bunch of players returned today. As we now enter the third week of camp, my worries increase for James White’s future as he remains on the PUP list.

Getting Jahlani Tavai back is good news after real concern last week that he had suffered a major injury.

Tyquan Thornton dusts Malcolm Butler and Terrance Mitchell in 1-on-1s. Smoked Mitchell at the line of scrimmage. #Patriots

— Evan Lazar (@ezlazar) August 8, 2022

Thornton continues to impress in drills and is beginning to show off his express speed which I’m sure delighted all in attendance today, my expectation for his rookie-season involvement is beginning to grow.

Devin Asiasi just walked off the field with a member of the training staff

— Alex Barth (@RealAlexBarth) August 8, 2022

A disappointing note here from Alex Barth, Asiasi was having a good camp by all accounts, but again suffers a setback.

🚨Play Of The Day🚨

Mac Jones 30-yard touchdown pass to DeVante Parker, who out-fought Jonathan Jones in the end zone on a jump ball during 7-on-7s. Hell of a catch.

— Andrew Callahan (@_AndrewCallahan) August 8, 2022

A dim of light in another dark day for the Patriots offensive unit, Jones showing there is still something still there from the initial Day 1 camp connection with DeVante Parker, I only wish there weren’t 9 days in between these moments.

Patriots defense is running roughshod over the offense. Highlights for that side were “sacks” by Christian Barmore and Matt Judon during a third-down period.

Offense looks broken. Can’t protect. Losing 1-on-1s. Blitzes getting through. No run game. Miscommunication on routes.

— Phil Perry (@PhilAPerry) August 8, 2022

Patriots No. 1 offense today has been distressingly bad. Run stuffs. Aborted plays. Would-be sacks. Distress lobs into traffic just to get ball out. Beginning to feel it’s less the new offense and more the post-Scar cycle of OL coaches. They are perpetually overwhelmed.

— Tom E. Curran (@tomecurran) August 8, 2022

Pretty damning reports from both Phil Perry and Tom E. Curran on the current state of play with the Pats offense, it needs to improve.

Sam Roberts just blocked a field goal. He’s good at that. That’s one of his things. #Patriots

— Evan Lazar (@ezlazar) August 8, 2022

A nice moment for the rookie here, doing something which he did a bunch in college is certainly a way of helping yourself onto the roster!

More tomorrow, LFG!
