Patriots GameDay Supplement 11/15

November 15, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Twitter : @MikeDussault19

Here’s your Patriots GameDay supplement for all of the latest news ahead of tonight’s Week 10 encounter against the Baltimore Ravens.

Check out my preview for today’s match up here.

Roster Moves

Main Roster
TE Jordan Thomas (Claimed on waivers from Arizona)
OL Jermaine Eluemunor (Activated from IR)
LB Terez Hall (Promoted from PS)*
LB Cassh Maluia (Promoted from PS)*
*Main roster promotions will revert back to PS after the game
Practice Squad Signings
TE David Wells
LB Caash Maluia (Released from the main roster before being re-signed)
TE/FB Paul Quessenberry
Released
DT Ryan Glasgow
QB Jake Dolegala
TE Dylan Cantrell (Signed on 10/11)
DT Nick Thurman
Placed On IR
TE Dalton Keene
LB Shilique Calhoun
OL Caleb Benenoch (PS)

With the TE position in turmoil right now, the team picked up Jordan Thomas who was waived by the Cardinals this past week. They also signed David Wells to the practice squad. Mike Reiss noted that whilst Thomas would be eligible to play on Sunday night, it may be too soon to see him suit up with no practice this week.

Cassh Maluia was cut, re-signed to the PS, and then promoted to today’s active roster, a busy week for him, but potentially an indication that Bill felt it was worth the risk to open up a roster spot.

Dalton Keene and Shilique Calhoun were placed on IR, meaning that they’ll be out for at least three weeks. The only real notable release was defensive frontman Nick Thurman, could see him back if he survives waivers.

Injury Check-In

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
OUT
NONE
DOUBTFUL
NONE
QUESTIONABLE
LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (Groin)
S Terrance Brooks (Illness)
LB Shilique Calhoun (Knee)
S Cody Davis (Calf)
DB Kyle Dugger (Ankle)
K Nick Folk (Back)
CB Stephon Gilmore (Knee)
DL Lawrence Guy (Shoulder, Elbow, Knee)
RB Damien Harris (Ankle, Chest)
WR N’Keal Harry (Concussion)
TE Ryan Izzo (Hamstring)
CB Jonathan Jones (Illness)
G Shaq Mason (Calf)
DE John Simon (Elbow)
G Joe Thuney (Ankle)
DE Deatrich Wise (Knee, Hand)
T Isaiah Wynn (Ankle)

Welp, another humongous injury list heading into tonight’s bout with Baltimore.

#Patriots RB Damien Harris, dealing with ankle and chest injuries, is hopeful to play tonight vs the #Ravens, source said. He’ll be closely monitored pre-game to make sure there are no setbacks.

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 15, 2020

Rapsheet reports that Damien Harris is on track to play tonight barring no setbacks during pre-game. Apart from this, no other news on any of the other questionable players.

BALTIMORE RAVENS
OUT
DE Calais Campbell (calf) – DNP
DOUBTFUL
CB Jimmy Smith (ankle)- DNP
QUESTIONABLE
LB L.J. Fort (finger) – LP
RB Mark Ingram II (ankle) – DNP
OLB Matthew Judon (calf) – LP

Calais Campbell’s absence is a big loss for Baltimore, though it shouldn’t impact their game-plan too much. Apart from that, the Ravens are quite blessed in having a small injury report, well, if you compare it to the Patriots at least.

Salary Cap Update

My new Patriots salary cap space number after today's transactions is $21,392,272 – an increase of $129,013 from yesterday.

— Patscap's Patriots Cap Space Number is in Bio (@patscap) November 14, 2020

As always, here’s your weekly check-in from @patscap! The current cap number stands at $21,391,272 following this week’s roster moves.

If you were curious what the Pats cap number for 2021 is looking like… look no further.

(1/3) These numbers are for 2021. Will change as we get closer to mid-March

$175M League Cap
plus $19.5M Carry Over
plus $2.6M in LTBE/NLTBE adjustments
equals $197.1M Adjusted Cap number for the Patriots

subtract $144M in cap commitments
equal
$53.1M in cap space for the Pats

— Patscap's Patriots Cap Space Number is in Bio (@patscap) November 15, 2020

(3/3) The $144M in cap commitments accounts for having 55 players signed or tendered. I am presuming every practice squad player that was elevated will be signed to a futures deal after the season is over.

Fantasy Starts (PPR)

RB Damien Harris
Harris is questionable today, but, given Sony Michel has been kept on IR, it’s probably an indication Harris will start. Now Rex Burkhead has swooped in to steal points away in recent weeks, but Harris is a good flex option if you’re struggling. Week 9 – 7.10 Week 10 projected points (NFL Fantasy) – 8.01– Average points – 9.12

WR Jakobi Meyers
Last week Meyers scored an incredible 28.90 points with a career-high performance. This week, the opposition is more tricky, and whilst I don’t expect Meyers to get anywhere near last week’s score, he’s worth a start as he’s still the Pats no1 WR option. Week 9 – 28.90 Week 10 projected points (NFL Fantasy) – 12.36– Average points – 13.65

Since the Patriots hired Bill Belichick in January 2000, the other three AFC East teams have combined to change head coaches a remarkable 21 times – that’s almost 1.5 new coaches per season. In fact, just this calendar year alone, the AFC East teams have all switched head coaches. Mort & Schefter: Bill Belichick remains […]
