Week 7 Injury Report – 10/21

October 21, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Week 7 is here, and so is the first injury report of the week, there was also some surprise returns to the field from players on IR!

New England Patriots

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
OL Jermaine Eluemunor (Ankle – placed on IR)
RB James White (Not injury related)
LIMITED
DL Adam Butler (Shoulder)
WR Julian Edelman (Knee)
S Kyle Dugger (Ankle)
OL Shaq Mason (Calf)

Jermaine Eluemunor left Sunday’s game without being able to walk on his ankle, but his tweet earlier today suggests he won’t be out for too long.

I won’t miss THAT Game…Bet on it

— Jermaine Eluemunor (@TheMainShow_) October 21, 2020

The game he’s referencing is Week 10’s encounter with Baltimore, the team that drafted him in 2017. James White was also absent for non-injury reasons and Kyle Dugger is the new name to the regulars on the limited list.

San Francisco 49ers

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
LB Kwon Alexander (Ankle)
RB Raheem Mostert (Ankle)
S Jaquiski Tartt (Groin)
OL Trent Williams (Ankle)
LIMITED
CB Dontae Johnson (Groin)
RB Jeffery Wilson (Calf)

A few big names missing from practice today for the 49ers, Kwon Alexander and Trent Williams would be huge losses for them against the Pats. Raheem Mostert isn’t expected to play this weekend.

Returning To Practice

Lots happening at Patriots practice:

🏈 DT Beau Allen present 1st time.

🏈 C David Andrews present. Same for LB Josh Uche.

🏈 Absent: RB James White, OL Jermaine Eluemunor, C James Ferentz.

🏈 DT Byron Cowart, RG Shaq Mason and DE Derek Rivers present (off COVID reserve).

Some important and good news for the Patriots today was the return of a number of absentees over the past few weeks. Now, none have officially returned to the main roster, but it’s a positive sign they’re back on the field and could be in contention of being activated by the weekend.

The news about Tommy Kelly is pretty brutal. In an effort to find a silver lining in all this bad news, do you think that struggling against all this adversity (and still managing to rack up W’s) will pay dividends in terms of their staying power in the play-offs?

We riding with Sopoaga, Vellano, Smith and Forston. Maybe Armstead. The only positive I see is that there will be some experienced young guys going into camp next season. But are any of them long-term building blocks? I like Vellano and Smith and think there could be a rotational spot for both. But Wilfork isn’t […]
