James White to miss tonight’s game following the passing of his father

September 20, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Just tragic news within the last hour, James White is inactive for tonight’s game following the passing of his father, Tyrone, in a car crash earlier today.

Sad news to report. Patriots' RB James White's father was in a car crash today and did not survive. His mother was also in the car and is in critical condition.

White's father, Tyrone, was a captain with the Miami-Dade Police Department.

James was told and is inactive tonight.

Andy Slater first reported the news after the Patriots announced the inactive list for tonight’s matchup against Seattle. White’s mother was also involved in the collision and is in critical condition this evening.

Can confirm. Terrible news. Hence White being inactive this evening. https://t.co/3RLiIjSt95

I’m not going to talk about how his absence may impact tonight’s game, because it doesn’t matter. My thoughts are with James and his family tonight, may his father rest in peace.

Brady’s QBR against Ryan’s Jets is 61.8. Against the rest of the league it’s 73.4. Just one of Brady’s top 20 QBR games over the past six seasons has come against New York, yet three of his worst nine QBR games came when facing New York. New England Patriots Blog – ESPN Boston
